Digital Learning

Preparing for digital learning

The prospect of preparing to transition to online teaching and learning is overwhelming, at best.
How can we create a community of learning and establish consistency in the face of so much upheaval, and from a screen, no less? Where to even start?  One step at a time.
In the hope of relieving some of the stress, I'm here to provide support, guidance and to hopefully make the transition  as easy as possible.
Several educators are compiling excellent resources to help our students with online learning to foster a productive, supportive and manageable virtual community.
Not to worry, we're all in this together!

What do we need to do?

First, we're going to make sure that we all understand how we're going to interact safely and respectfully with one another.  I have included a link that will help with this.
So watch the clip, respond and then we're ready for the next step.

Next, we're going to establish a routine which I know is important to and for our children. We'll start with the simple things which may or may not appear obvious, but helps to maintain the routine and some consistency.
Then, we'll get into working and getting tasks complete while engaging in some face-to-face learning.  It is important for the children to engage with myself and their peers when possible. We do this by participating in the class meetings,story-time, and one-on-one sessions.
Finally, we can have fun here too!  Call Me Maybe
We do that by taking brain breaks away from the screen and doing hands-on activities to engage your mind and family members.
